Hi there! My name is Haley Myer, and I am an undergraduate student at Pennsylvania State University studying Materials Science and Engineering. Over the course of my undergraduate career I have been trying to draw parallels between what I am taught in the classroom and what I see in the real world. This site aims to document my own experiences and thoughts about relevant, technical, and fun materials science and engineering topics in our everyday world. I hope it sparks interest in materials science for the average person with no technical background, while also providing enough detail to keep the engineer intrigued. My materials science experience is in metal alloy design and characterization, as well as additive manufacturing. I am interested in high temperature alloys, biocompatible alloys, and high strength stainless steels. ​
